The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation comprised of 38 member countries, that works to build better policies for better lives. Our mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. Together with governments, policy makers and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards, and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.
The Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD) (www.oecd.org/sdd) provides statistics and data on a comparable basis and from a variety of sources to analysts, policy makers, and members of civil society. SDD also develops new metrics and innovative digital tools to address emerging policy issues, leads the development of international statistical standards, advances statistical methodology, and co-ordinates statistical and data-related activities within the Organisation and with other international agencies.
The National Accounts Division (NAD) in SDD leads work on national accounts and on Environmental-Economic Accounting (EEA). NAD’s EEA team undertakes methodological and statistical work jointly with the OECD Environment Directorate (ENV) to compile accounts in line with the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) Central Framework. The EEA team is also providing statistical support to other Directorates in areas such as climate change monitoring, carbon footprints and green growth. This includes developing innovative methods to address key data gaps.
NAD is looking for an Analyst who will play a leading role in this effort, including undertaking conceptual and methodological work, developing statistics and databases on the environment and the economy, collaborating with experts, drafting publications and presenting results in international meetings. The successful candidate will also make important contributions to international initiatives such as the UN Committee of Experts on EEA (UNCEEA), the G20 Data Gaps Initiative (DGI) and the joint OECD/UNECE annual seminar on SEEA implementation.
