    Description of the Assignment:

    The consultancy is part of the project titled "Supporting Community-driven Violence Reduction and Sustainable Peace in Lesotho." It focuses on conducting a Gender and Security Needs Assessment Study to understand how gender dynamics influence conflict and violence in Lesotho. The study aims to identify gender-specific vulnerabilities, assess community security needs, and recommend inclusive strategies for peacebuilding and conflict resolution, particularly in the districts of Maseru, Mafeteng, and Mokhotlong.


    Specifically, the exercise objectives are:
    1. Analyze Gender Dynamics
      Examine how gender roles and inequalities contribute to conflict and violence in communities.

    2. Conduct Community Needs Assessment
      Identify gaps in understanding the sources and nature of conflict and violence to inform effective redress mechanisms.

    3. Assess Gender-related Security Needs
      Determine the specific security expectations and needs of different genders within communities, especially regarding access to services and participation in leadership and peacebuilding.

    Period of assignment : 25 days
