The Global Green Growth Institute internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the organization and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. We encourage qualified women and men, in particular, nationals of developing countries, with diverse professional, academic, and cultural backgrounds to apply.
We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Governance Unit, Department of Partnerships and Governance, Office of the Director-General. The incumbent will be able to gain experience in the following areas: 1) maintaining and managing governance-related databases, including those tracking meetings, membership status, decisions, and correspondence; 2) updating and managing governance content on the GGGI website, in coordination with relevant teams; 3) supporting the preparation of communication materials, including PowerPoint presentations and other visual content for governance-related meetings and publications; 4) understanding the inner workings of governance organs of an international organization; 5) supporting the organization of official governance organ meetings and diplomatic events; 6) coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and partners; and 7) learning the processes of a country or regional integration organization becoming a member of an international organization.
The Governance Unit is part of the Department of Partnerships and Governance under the Office of the Director General Division (ODG), which oversees the organization's external engagements, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization. The ODG Division supports the Director General (DG) with governance, partnerships, strategies, results, change management, communications, and advisory services. The ODG Division is both internal facing, in that it supports GGGI in fulfilling its strategic vision, and external facing, in that it supports the DG in developing and maintaining relationships with partners and mobilizing resources. The ODG Division ensures the DG is effectively supported to play his role as the 'global voice' for green growth.

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin their internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.
Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD 500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions) for working 40 hours a week. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.
Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
Internship Permits: D-2 Visa holders are required to receive approval from their University and the Immigration Office prior to the commencement of Internship. The Hiring Team will support the intern in providing the necessary documents, if necessary.
Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.
Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
Working Hours: Interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly. D-2 Visa holders should confirm the allowable working hours under their University regulations and should inform the Hiring Team in advance.
Learning Outcomes: Before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.
Certificate: Provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
