Mission and objectives
ERONet (Enabling Rural Opportunity Network), fomally ACDA (Agoro Community Development Association) is a grassroots organization based in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda, supporting rural women and girls, refugee populations, and post-conflict communities. Since 2001, ERONet has evolved from an informal IDP support group into a legally registered CBO with a mission to tackle gender inequality, economic hardship, and social exclusion. ERONet goal is to empower women, girls, and vulnerable rural populations in post-conflict settings to achieve economic independence, gender equality, and social inclusion through community-driven, sustainable, and rights-based programs.Context
ERONet (Enabling Rural Opportunity Network) is a women-centered nonprofit based in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda, working in refugee-affected, post-conflict communities. This assignment supports our global campaign to raise visibility for girls’ education and innovation in crisis-prone areas through The Human Race event. The volunteer’s contribution will help amplify voices from one of Uganda’s most underserved regions and mobilize support through online storytelling and outreach—without any direct fundraising.Task Description
ERONet is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Content Volunteer to support our virtual campaign for The Human Race 2025—a global walk/run/ride event taking place from August 16–24, 2025. The event raises awareness for ERONet’s mission to empower rural girls in refugee-prone Northern Uganda through education and STEM-focused innovation. The volunteer will help us develop engaging content to promote the campaign across our platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn). Tasks include: Drafting 2–3 posts per week (text only) Proposing themes, hashtags, and simple campaign messages Recommending Facebook groups, online forums, or digital communities where ERONet could share the campaign for increased visibility Collaborating with our design and web volunteers to align visuals and links Translating content into other languages: Germany, France, etec (optional) Sharing weekly updates via email or LinkedIn. Note: Volunteers will not be asked to post on behalf of ERONet. Instead, they will provide content and advice that ERONet staff will post directly. .All communication will be via email and WhatsApp, with flexible timelines. Volunteers may work independently or in coordination with other online volunteers and event organizers. At the end of the assignment, the volunteer will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from UNV acknowledging their contribution to ERONet’s global campaignCompetencies and values
