Result of Service
1. Videos, brochures, images, animated presentations, and design of material for social media on the role of the UN Verification Mission’s mandate: a) Peace Agreement b) Comprehensive rural reform c) Ethnic Chapter d) Restorative Sentences e) Security guarantees f) Social, political, and economic Reintegration g) Mechanism of the ceasefire 2. Pedagogical and communication materials for national, regional, and local instances. 3. Infographic report of the Secretary-General’s report on the UN Verification Mission in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities
Within the terms of organization's delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Public Information Officer, the Consultant will undertake the following tasks: • Develop creative ideas and concepts, choosing the appropriate media and style, to meet the Communications Strategy objectives. • Provide technical assistance in the design, production, communication, and dissemination of information products. • Design an infographic report of the Secretary-General’s report on the UN Verification Mission in Colombia. • Design of multimedia and graphics products such as videos, brochures, images, animated presentations, posts for social media and others related to the UNVMC’s Communications strategy focus on the new mandates, including Shooting/ Filming, Editing and Postproducting (Adobe Premier, Adobe after Effects), in coordination with the Strategic Communications and Public Information Unit (SCPIU). • Support the elaboration of arts of print and digital material when required. Responsible for photo-retouching and image editing for all digital and print material. • Support the roll-out of an internal communications strategy about the mandates. • Perform other related duties, as required.
Qualifications/special skills
A first- level university degree in graphic design or related area is required. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Graphic Design and/or related field is required. Experience in animation and Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator, typography and/or composition is desirable. Experience in projects and videos with national public and private organizations for education campaigns is desirable. Experience in concept creation and production execution is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written Spanish is required. Working knowledge of English is desirable. NOTE: Fluency equals a rating of "fluent" in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and "knowledge of" equals a rating of "confident" in two of the four areas.
